SBC has DSL for $12.99/month with 1 year contract.

After my experiences with them, I wouldn't even go back if they charged $4.99/month.

What area are you in? Is there a residential wireless provider in the area? Otherwise, TimeWarner offers their cable internet service.

I hated SBC. Were were supposed to get one year at their "special" 19.99 but they chrged us regular price (around $27) a few times. We caught it a few months and had to call and go through all that b.s. Then the last time we caught it was in December. We called only to find out we had been paying FULL price all along (the ENTIRE YEAR). They wouldn't refund the money either.... so we asked if we could just get another year at the 19.99 price instead...but they said no. So now we have Road Runner. F*em. Our digital cable/digital phone/and RR is cheaper than it was for us to have digital cable/SBC DSL/SBC phone. And RR is at least 3 times faster.

yea i was leaning towards roadrunner because in order to have sbc, you have to use their crappy phone service. any ideas on what road runner costs?

If your paying for cable tv, a phone line, and internet access its about 30 bucks a month cheaper to go with SBC Yahoo Satellite with all their services. We just switched over, its not too bad besides the fact that we lost our DVR box

Yea I also have had some pretty horrible experiences with SBC. I am much happier with whatever service it is that my neighbor has!

That's my problem too. They say I am 400 ft from being able to get it. I am in West Allis, it's not like I am in the northwoods for crying out loud. So it's either RR or dial up for me and I can't go back to dial up.

Unfortunately for DSL its all about your distance from the CO- Central Office or pad that has a DSL link.

ok guys i went to sams club yesterday and went to the kiosk desk there and signed up for roadrunner at 29.99 a month for the first 6 months. the guy said just cancel after that and they will offer you the same price again. why cant any of my white trash neighbors have any service so i can steal it? wtf! lol

Theie policy is pretty dumb but I'm not complaining. As it is now, all you need to do is be cancelled for like 14 days and then you're a new customer again. So as long as you can put up with not having service for two weeks, you always win... :headbang
