Any guys know VW's?

We just got an 02 GTI 337 Turbo.

Does anybody know what the "337" part means? From what I can find, only 1500 of these were brought to the states.

it basically means you have stumbled onto a rare vw which will hold its value...these came with 18" bbs wheels i believe and only came in silver.These only came in the 1.8T version and had some exterior differences from the gti and some extra badging.The performance and mechanicals are the same as the 02 GTIs but the 337s came in 6spd i believe.If this is yours now hold on to it cuz it will only hold value if you sold it to a vw enthusiast.Nice find.

Well than thats the confusing part. It's black. I'll have to check on the 6 speed but I ran a carfax on it and it came up like this.

hmmmm...ill have to talk to my vw buddy and check that out.They only came in 6 speeds and have recaro seats if that helps.It should have 18" bbs RC wheels and 337 badges..ill get back to ya..

i just did some researching and they only came in reflex silver.Why do you think it might be a 337?Unless it was painted its not a 337 as far as mine and the internets knowledge.Let me know anyway bout the tranny and seats and ill talk to my buddy some more.Hope this helps

Well, when the carfax called it a 337, thats when I was curious.

If you run a Vin Decoder on all GTIs they come up with a 337 Edition option. Once again the 337 Edt comes with 18" BBS Wheels, Recaro Racing Seats, so on and so forth. It would say "337 Edition" right above the radio, and it would be painted. It would also say that it's a "Limited Edition" there as well... We've had 2 or 3 here since I started... The thing with Carfax and the Vin Decoders is that they don't know which the car is so they give you a choice...
