Well, my finals begin the week of the 8th, so I can't go to the May 6th drivers school.(http://www.waiautox.org/2006/2006.html)

I posted here, (http://www.scca.org/garage/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3123&PN=1&TPN=1), are their any other message boards that could help me out?

Try the Midwestern Council Drivers School held by the Lakeshore Sports Car Club this spring at Blackhawk Farms Raceway.

The racing school costs less than 200$ and then you need to rent a car. I ended up with a 79 Fiesta for 200$. There will be two or three schools this summer.

That seems like alot of money. Is that the going rate? 200 for the school plus 200 for a car?

Can't you use your own car if you go to one of the mini schools?? I don't see why they wouldn't let you, but I have no clue, Ive never done this before and I'm actually wondering...

the NASA midwest events are all drivers school style.

you start out with an instructor, and progress to driving alone,

then to being timed!!!!!!! :)

true, but you also can get instructors in the MCSCC who have taught at Skip Barber. Simply put, the same instruction.

Skip uses newer cars like SRT4s, and as you can expect, the price is passed on to you because the life expectancy of these cars is very short.

The one MAJOR advantage is that you get a competition license right away. MCSCC requires 3 hours behind the wheel before you can upgrade from a novice license to competition.
