Sounds like a nice car and all, but it's probably only worth 30K. He has to remember, he owns a GM, they depreciate really fast! He should have thought about that a little more and priced it more appropriately. And someone else asking 65K for a similar car?! He's even more nuts! :alcoholic :punch: :chair:

LOL, that's about right... Too far from stock, the vehicle has been devalued... I'd say that's the correct sale price... Survey says?

Too much...

Maybe worth $25,000 tops. I've seen fully built drag cars go for less. The guy who wanted 65k for his was local to us. Remember the "9 PSI" license plate guy? He wanted that price for his way back in the day before it was even finished from Michael's Performance or whatever was on Main St. in Waukesha.

Figure if he bought the car new, that was $30k there. So about half of it. The turbo setup was probably around $10k as was the whole motor after everything was said and done. So now we are up to $50k. Then figure all the little stuff that doesnt pop up when you are trying to examine a guy's car, and that **** gets expensive. Transmission, Rear, Fuel system, suspension crap, gauges, INSTALLATION, etc...

I didn't take a look at the pics, but the car is no where worth 45k. If he was realistically to sell it, it'd fetch 20k-25k and no more. Sucks the fact that it's the '98 since it's that much older. I think if it was the last year SS it might pull $35k.

Good way to look at it, take what the car is worth now, then take what HALF the value is of the USED aftermarket parts by themselves are worth and add it together.

$15,000 car TOPS, plus a turbo kit worth 6000used (so half added to 15) then a 5000 engine used(2500 to the 15) plus the extras, really only is the 25 area.

Looks like a dirt wagon too... i guess if its got the hardware there, and if in the hands of the right person might be able to make it something, it might be worth a little over 30... Mods never add up.

Sad part about it that its never been Dyno'd, so he throws out a number like 700 hpwr at 6 to 8 psi.
All that money stuck into it and no numbers to show.

Classic case of sombody trying to get their money in ad ons back. Don't work that way. Personally, I would pay more for a virgin car than one that has been pounded on already.

Either that or it's his baby and he thinks it's worth gold.

Just wanted to show another car that I have seen before at Car craft Nationals last summer. There is a vid and further down in the thread there is a few more pictures. http://kyfbodies.org/vb/showthread.php?p=145964 :headbang This car was selling for 125K, When I saw it, they were supposedly making 25. In fact now that I have sort of watched the video, that is from the Car Craft nationals last summer in St. Paul at the MN state fair grounds. At the beginning of the vid, you here him say the hp and 600 lb ft, that was the first run it made that day, but one of the intake hoses blew off during the run.

Yup, most mods devalue vehicles, at least from a dealership aspect... Modified cars are ALOT harder to sell... I remember the Civic we had last year, full body kit, lowered, rims, engine mods... We had to disclose everything that was modified obviously, and most people just walked past it and laughed at it... And every 18 year old with a drivers license wanted to drive it... Yeah, finally one came along with mommy and daddy as a co-signer and took the thing off our hands...
