Note: I have a gazillion pix, I took them from the front row and I was the first guy up to the car when they let everyone up.

Please check back later in that folder for more pix, I promise you will be happy. :thumbsup

I am continuing to upload them as you read this...

There's just something weird about that grill but I can't put my finger on it. Kinda cadillac-ish maybe?

I wish they would've blacked it out so you couldn't see the crossbar pattern.

I think it would look better with the hideaway headlights like the 67-69 RS package had. I LOVE the side profile, but i'm not too cracked up about the rear. Thanks for the awesome pics Greg! :thumbsup

Thank god that GM will never produce that interior tho... It would totally KILL that car... :stare

I like what they did with the center console though, except for the color, but how they brought back having some gauges in there. But I agree, the gauges look rediculous being so big, but the actual style of the surround is very close to the first gen dash. I hope they won't release the car the way that is.

Yup that's exactly what I was thinking... Actually the first thing I said when I saw the front end...

that front end is badass. side profile isn't bad either. rear is questionable, and the interior belongs in Flight Of The Navigator

Yup gimme hideaway's and raise the greenhouse about 3 inches, ditch the frisbee gauges and we got a deal. Too bad knowing GM we will probably never get ANY version of this car. It'll be front wheel drive and a 4cyl by the time it goes to production if at all :fire

Then again my uncle is lame b/c he ditched his '02 SS Convertible for a '94 Prizm... what an idiot... "Oh the gas prices are too high..." wtf... why would you sell that car???

I pretty certain that the car will change substantially...the roofline is too low, so that'll change. I'm pretty sure that the car would probably become "softer", IE, not as many harsh angles, and the rear would be toned down almost certainly.

As well, without a doubt the interior would change...that's pretty much a modern day, if not futuristic copy of the 67-69 guages, and probably meant to get those that love the old cars a strong "bridge" for familiarity.

Eeeek! The grille I'm totally not feeling it, it looks like it came off and 40 something Mercury.
Mid section is totally Mustang/ Challenger.
Tail light are like a C6 knockoff's. If your gonna make a Camaro retro thats based on a 69', well dammit design a tail light that looks like it came off a '67- '69.

IMO, they need to completly redesign the whole car, like some what use cues from a 4th Gen... Maybe if GM went ahead and did that, the other car companies will follow suit. Like a teacher once said to me, you have your 3 kinds of people.

A LEADER, A FOLLOWER and A DUH.

GM fits in the DUH category.

Not bad but think the Dodge Challenger concept is a hell of a lot better looking. The Camaro is way too cut up and the styling does not flow. Seems like people in separate buildings designed individual sections of the car without sharing their ideas. Then they all showed up with their parts put them all together :confused .

The camaro is fawking GAAYYY!!! Exterior is ok, interior..........well I think a geo metros interior looks better. The gauges are retarded, the pedals look stupid, and oh my that shifter is um weird?

that interior is just aweful. The front of the car looks terrible. The profile looks pretty mean but pretty much nothing else about the car is flattering.

coming from a Cavalier owner :rolf

I think it's awesome, the taillights could be reworked, but any annoyances, I'd quickly get over.

If the interior is @ the same level of quality as my GTOs, along with the ol LS2, Tremec, and that exterior........ I would like kill someone if thats what it took to get my hands on the new Camaro.

Because the Camaro should just lay to rest. It died in 1998 with the latest style. This is going to be another overpriced hunk of plastic that's going to get owned (sales wise) by the Mustang, for the billionth year in the row.

No, I'm not a ford fanboy and I love the camaro, but let it rest in peace.

i'm just saying....everyone wants v-8 rwd cars back...then it does and its not good enough.....in my mind the mustang is the ugliest pile of crap out now.....not that the camaro couldn't have been better but i applaud the effort.....they are trying to give "the people" what they want....thats all......

It looks like a bloated 3800-4000 lbs. pig. I don't expect it to be any lighter by any means unless it's made out of of pure fiberglass.

Then again, the new mustang is quite chunky too.

just jokin' hun. If it makes you happy other than the 20k or so owed on my GTO I also have about 3.5k in various debt, not including the 4k the wifey is trying to sock me with in my divorce.

I really shouldn't have got a new car.

The more and more I see it, the more I am liking it. The interior is awesome (minus the gauges). Atleast the materials look like they are of a much higher quality. I still think the grill is a little too slanted or something, just not right.
Dont like the tail lights and the Ricer/Diesel, 5" sized exhaust tips. I would have to see it in person to get a better feel for the size of the car and such.
Really hope it doesnt carry the same weight as a GTO. Keep it the same or lighter than a 4th Gen.

With a 400hp LS6 under the hood, it will beat a mustang GT. I'm guessing that a more powerful engine will manage to get under the hood and recieve a special title such as SS or Z28.

Ls2.

Ls2.

Whoops. I tend to associate the '6' with 6 liters.

Poncho
01-13-2006, 01:55 PM
LS2 is basically a LS6 but with more cubes, and the early LS6 (385hp) cam combined with the LS6 heads. so you really weren't far off.

Cjburn
01-13-2006, 06:53 PM
LS2, independent rear suspension, that profile, maybe restyle the front grill a little, and I actually would consider that car, especially since Chevy's 8's get better gas mileage than my 4cylinder on the expressway.

Poncho
01-14-2006, 12:45 AM
well the concept as is is basically a rebodied commodore/monaro. I'm pretty sure it's the upcoming chassis though. But just looking it it's general dimensions, it looks like my car with different exterior panels, but the same underpinnings. Which means it'll ride like a dream, have awesome sound deadening/isolation, be squeek free, and go like hell.

Does anyone remember the naming rights for the F-bodies? Then the plant was torn down?
