View Full Version : Honda Dealership.....

Does anybody work at one, or know somebody that does?

I purchased a factory CD/cassette combo (out of a 95' Accord) from a fellow BCM member a couple of weeks ago. I gave it to my father-in-law for his 91' Accord which has the same exact radio. Everything fit great and plugged in just like the 'old' one but the word 'code' came up on the display. I'm not too 'up' on Honda's 'security' systems, mainly because when anything like that comes in to work we send it right to the dealer. Which is why I know that something like this has to go to the dealer, unless there is something else that you can do that I don't know about.......

Any help or info will be much appreciated.....

Thanks

usually you just call the dealer and have them look up the vin number of the car that stereo is from. and they can give you the code.

Nope. Tried that already. They want me to rip apart the dash and get the number off the radio, then come in with the title to prove it is my car and my radio...

I hate that stupid code. Honestly, who the hell wants to steel a factory honda/acura radio? Im not a thief but if I was, I wouldnt be wasting time on those. I wish the guys behind the parts counter at the honda/acura dealers would see it that way. I get the same thing here when I get a code light. "pull the radio and bring the title in"
