Jeff: Nuns?
Rudy: Yeah. I had to get Jim to turn the fire hose on them.

The main thing that the remake of Gone in 60 seconds did was make Shelby Clones ungodly expensive....... That was a movie that had no reason to be made.

Did anyone see the sequel to Gone in 60 seconds? It was called The Junkman and was from 1982?

There was a rash of cheesy car flicks in the late 70's. Ron Howard did a few of them. I remeber w=one where Grossman from CHiP'S destroys a 70 Hemi Charger after driving it though a car delership window.

Good times......

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot was another semi car movie. Jeff Bridges steals a small window early 70's T/A in the begining. May have been a 455 SD car?

I just didn't get 'into' like most did, sure there were some VERY nice cars in it but other than that the movie itself was ok at best......

The Wraith is my personal fav... not many have seen it but this is the main car that was in it, http://www.us-car-history.de/filmautos/interceptor/04-Interceptor.jpg

http://www.us-car-history.de/filmautos/interceptor/05-Interceptor.jpg

It has charlie sheen in it and its about this group of guys that race people and if they beat them they steal their cars. Dodge must have been a big sponser of this movie in 86' as there are alot of turbo dodge cars in it, including the above car which is some sort of prototype 86' indy pace car called the "dodge (M4S) turbo interceptor"

Here is a write up on it:

Best known for role in The Wraith, the M4S / Dodge Turbo Interceptor is in storage at the Walter P. Chrysler museum (Derek Beland). The pace car was built by Chrysler and PPG for $1.5 million, and six additional copies were made for the movie filmed in 1986 outside of Tuscon, Arizona, starring Charlie Sheen and Nick Cassavettes. The car was rear wheel drive, with the basic 2.2 block topped by a Cosworth 16 valve, dual-cam head and fed by Bosch fuel injection with twin turbochargers (John Abram Cargo). Road & Track claimed 440 horsepower, 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, and a 12.9 second quarter mile; the mid-engine design was loosely Daytona-based.

Four still exist; one is at PPG headquarters, one is in a museum. A kit car with the same basic look was made for a while, using a different engine. It was shown at the 1986 Chicago Car Show. Reportedly, a 600 horsepower engine was installed in one copy.

Is the wraith one of those killer car movies or somthing like christine? I think I have seen it.

12-26-2005, 05:31 PM
just like christine kinda, charlie sheen would drive that turbo car and race them, and kill them one by one racing them and destroy the car, and magically it would reserect and take off at full speed.

Tommy Boy, not really car movie. But nice conv't GTX or Belvidere. Also liked Black Sheep, the Caprice Cop car with a HEMI, Interesting swap..... HEMI with 2 bottles could be fun in anything.
Another charley seen movie... California Kid. Blue '32? flamed roadster.
I prefer Cannon Ball Run and Smokey and the Bandit 1&2, 3 was lame, American Graffitti, watched those so many times growing up.
Bullit is so boring til you get to the chase scene. Then its back to boring.
I thought the remake "gone in 60 sec." was alot better than the original.
No really interesting cars in the orig. Dont care too much for 70's era footage. Just another boring one to watch.
2-lane was alright.... There was another movie I recently saw with the guy from Amercian Graffitti. The one who drove the yellow Coupe. In this movie he had a red '67/'68 Camaro. was o.k. Just cant remember the name.
Thats all I got for now....
