hi i play BF2,

i just installed my new Nvidia 6800 Ultra 256MB, Video Card.

i have a AMD 64, 2800Mhz CPU , w/ 1GB RAM.

Iy seems as if i run my BF2 settings, at HIGH or MEDIUM,
it works, BUT when i try to turn AROUND in the game,
it gets choppy.

WHAT can i run my BF2 Video settings at?

what do you run yours at?

WHAT Vid card do i need to run my BF2 graphics at HIGH?

Thanks

Hmmm, you should be more than fine with those settings...I wish i had a computer that runs BF2. :(

I'm too cheap to buy one though.

how many other programs are running. open up the task manager (ctrl, alt, delete) and click on the Processes tab. it will tell you how much memory you're running apps are using. normal continuous running programs shouldn't use more than 10k each.

For BF2 I believe 1gb RAM was the absolute minimum you should have as I remember it was talked about a lot on message boards. Same goes with F.E.A.R and other graphics intense games. Adding more RAM should help your issue as when you turn around there's a lot of new things dumped into memory.

I have a 2ghz, 1gb ram and a 256 9600 XT and I have to tone the graphics down some. Try that first, it's cheaper than a vid card.

i just got my new computer here are my specs and i have run bf2 and fear just fine on high

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 4400+ with HyperTransport and Dual Core Technology
512MB PCI-Express x16 NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7800 GTX
2GB Low-Latency Dual Channel DDR PC-3200 at 333MHz - 4 x 512MB

my gfs computer (my old one) has the 6800 and has some low fps once in a while on bf2
maybe upgrade to a 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 7800 GT ? in all honesty thow right now to upgrade to 7800 i dont think is worth it all that much. both computers side by side my new computer grafixs do not look all that much better for what i payed for the thing. heck i could have had a down payment on a better car insted :chair:

Well when it was in my computer I was running 1280x1024 w/ everything on medium.

I've got dual 6800OC's now and I can run 1280x1024 w/ everything on medium to high. Alone one cant compare to the 6800u but together they're a lil better.

I'm waiting on a 7800GTX (512mb) that supports Direct X 10!!

deciuss - whats your name on BF2?

I've heard the same thing. But tell me how could I run my graphics so high with a 6800GT??? There's no way you could run the graphics settings I do on BF2 with a single 6800!!! So that there tells me SLI works :)

Would you be interestead in a LAN party sometime in march deciuss?? Me, mike, and a bunch of his friends are gonna try to get one going in his basement!!

i have a AMD 64, 2800Mhz CPU

Oh and btw its a AMD Athlon 2800+, it's not a A64.

I honestly do not know much about the dual vid cards. All my computer geek friends said don’t do it so I followed there advice on that one.

Question how did you guys get your stats for the game? I would love to see mine lol im normally in the top 5 and get that special opps or best sniper thing. But then I run into some streaks where I play like crap, I think it has more to do with the map im very good at the ones with lots of buildings.

Now to only convince my gf to play and run behind me as a medic.

Btw liquid cooling is very loud they lie that its not

You have to play on Ranked servers. I have mine set so it filters out unranked servers. Yes water cooling is quite loud, I also have a water cooler hooked up to my processor. I'm running a Danger Den D4 pump which has a nice whine to it.

As for dual video cards, they can't say it's bad or doesnt work unless they've tried it. Over the past few weeks it's gotten even better with nvidias latest 80series drivers. You can MIX video cards as long as they're the same gpu. Also SLI support for TV and HDTV.
