Not cool whip or shaving cream, the snow.

So how has it effected you so far? All I know is that I need to leave for school earlier than normal tomorrow so i can get a spot in the garage. There is usually a line trying to get in.

Got Doplar...

Thus far it only helped me get my Mustang stuck in my dad's driveway... Nothing some patience and rocking couldn't fix though... Normally I don't have problems, but he is out of town and his driveway turned to ice... Hrmmm next year I'm thinking 4x4... Time to start looking... lol

i have all-season pirrelli's on there i just bought them...they work pretty damn good. i maybe need to add some weight to the back thats what usually scares me when the back end gets squirrly from lane changes and gear shifts.

a Camaro vert just kicked the back end out yesterday and I think he hit a pole when he was turning right by my house.

buy salt and throw it in there... then sell it to your parents for their water softener :) i love not losing money on "investments" hahaha.

i hope we get more, for certain "extra curricular" activities, haha

My guess is that those are better than the 3 Kumhos I have on my Mustang and the 1 Goodyear LS :durr Then again your Camaro's got a few more HP than the stang, but it's still rwd and light in back... Plus it's a snow plow... lol, damn lowered cars... :thumbsup

There are a few sets of fbody winter tires/rims for sale on the MFBA, all reasonably priced too.

i have all-season pirrelli'sAll season tires normally blow in the snow though...they do fine in cold/dry environments (hence the all-season, which is really all-temperature) but as soon as the snow hits the ground, they are pretty piss-poor.

Dunlop Graspic DS-1 mounted on salad shooters. There you go, make it happen. A lot of places are out of snow tires for the season however.

Salad shooters are 16 inchers, aren't they? If so, I'd recomend Green Diamond Tires (http://greendiamondtire.com/productsny1.html). They've got them in 225/60R16 which would make for a perfect snow tire (narrow is better in the snow)...might have to tap into the ECM to recalibrate the speedo though.

The green diamonds are imbedded into the rubber throuhout, so even as it wears away, there is always new diamonds surfacing to keep traction. THEY liken it to having studs...which might be a little exageration, but hey, it's a good snow tire even if the diamonds don't do crap.

i know what your saying....i couldnt talk my dad into letting me get snow tires and rims and then turning around and needing tires in the spring for my other rims.

i got these here...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Pirelli&tireModel=PZero+Nero+M%26S&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=74WR70NMS&fromCompare1=yes&place=6

they are rated "excellent" for snow traction although there too wide for snow...i have to agree it does a very good job its usually just usally driver error on my part ie...giving it too much gas making lane changes too quick, shifting...and the fact that ive never driven rwd before. i think the salt bags are a good idea thanks crawlin...they do have the water softner. for the most part i dont have too much trouble in the snow i actually like it for taking off from stoplights better then the olds cause i can feather the gas and start out in 2nd. the traction control helps a lot as well.

How are they for mud traction???? :loser

Cleveland Dave

well when u turn the traction control off and floor it in 2nd around a corner trying to "drift" around the corner in a parking lot u just may find out :goof

Cleveland Dave

to answer your question it throws the mud pretty far...i had to whipe it off my glasses when i got home. it was just all the snow packed underneath the car and in front that slowed me down :durr
