My driver's side door has started to make a creaking sound when opening and closing and I see that the part of the door pin that's supposed to rotate doesn't really rotate anymore.

Someone on here was saying that it is a common problem among these vehicles. I'm just wondering how much it cost to get this damn thing replaced and is it dealership only?

Its not so much the roller part of the hinge that usually goes bad, or in your case binds up, it's the bushings for the door pins. I have seen a few that are so worn out that it affects other parts of the door, which could be happening in your case. The parts are cheap, but it's not the easiest thing to do. A dealership will cost quite a bit (above $150). I'd suggest a needle nose vise grip and a lot of PB blaster, and it may come free.

Lube it...and lube it often. Mine started to make a little noise again with the cold weather.
