I doubt a $12,000 auction for just one xbox 360 unit is legit. However, a few days beforre the release they were going for $700-800, the day of and the day after (Nov. 22-23) they were going for $1200-1600, and now-a-days they are going for $800. Pretty insane, I'm kicking myself for not camping out to get one and selling it. O well, I'll just wait for the next shipment to grab mine.

The newest news about people selling them on ebay is that people are selling the Xbox360 on ebay for an absorbant amount of cash and then the high bidder wins. When it comes ion the mail they get the product and the package weighs a few pounds. They a cracking them open only to find out that yeah they won the bid for (an Xbox360 BOX)!!!! I herd this on the news on my way to work. I suppose that people are not reading all of the information properly before bidding. How pissed would you be if this happened to you? I would kick the sh!t outta someone and myself for not reading everyhting throughly. :alcoholic

I read some of those auctions and some dont even have the goddamn product in their hands, they said it's backordered and will take 3 weeks to ship. I hope eBay shuts those scumbags down.

well whoever got my cousin's, it was for real. That is pretty dumb that sellers are taking advantage of people like that, I personally wouldn't even think about getting one online. I've had to many headaches with online purchases to run that risk.

Why do you think PS3 is going to be so good. The advantage with XBox is that you don't have this properietary stuff like PS3. Just having the HD is a great part. No need for a memory card. Once it's hacked, you can get a bigger HD and store all your games on there. Or even copy them for that matter. And just the fact you can get online for free is a big advantage. And for $50 a year, you can play online. PS2 is $5 a game a month. That is very expensive. Plus with PS, you have to buy the HD and modem/network card seperate. I would never buy a PS. To me, it seems like a grown up Dreamcast. But that is my preference.

The only problem I have heard of with the 360 is the overheating. And it comes down to mostly where people are placing them. One guy I read had it cramped in his entertainment unit with the doors closed and the Power Pack smashed against the fan. Good way to throw away $400....lol.

Sony NEEDS the PS3 to be huge. They had a horrible 2005 for home audio and video devices.

Sony will lose about 2x what Microsoft does on the 360 for every PS3 they sell. With Sony losing money in other areas as well, they better hope the games and accessories are popular as hell.

I just don't get how everyone "knows" the PS3 will be better. It doesn't even exist yet and the real world performance of the "cell" chip is somewhat lackluster.

Exactly. Let the products do the talking, Sony hasn't released PS3 yet and it's way too early to see if Microsoft has been successful with the 360. Only time will tell.

Every system has bugs when it comes out. That is just the way things go. PS3 will be no different.

I dunno if anyone has a 360, but if you play PGR3, they have a mode called Gotham TV where up to 30,000 people can watch an actual race going on over the internet. You can be in the drivers seat, one of the fans in the stands, hover over and watch the race....etc... When you are in the drivers seat, you can actually look around and see cars as they go by you. I just thought that was a very inventive part of the game.

ya i know the fist few shipments sent have issues the thin ps2 had problems also. its just kind of scarry that the second someone says the first word i know if they are gona ask about the 360.
