Just like the topic states.

I had a couple questions for those of you that may have hook ups in the industry about possibilities of making some 1/2" plates.

i think it may be a bit more than i realized. there was a company that came out with a deck plate for the LS1's to basically raise the heads off the block some more. allowed a longer rod with the bigger stroke and a variety of other reasons.

probably won't be needing it anymore, but i appreciate the response

Huh?..... :confused

Cubic inches mean little in a turbocharged motor, I'd be more worried about bore size than stroke anyway.

Hey Chris, that was pretty cool, I looked it up on LS1Tech.com and it sounds like the 498ci 10.2" deck LS1 costs $30,000. Bad ass I must say.

But hey why stop there when you could get a Jon Kaase-built 900ci IHRA big block? :goof

30,000 is for a full complete job if you gave them a stock vehicle

12,000 for a longblock if i remember right. there's too many quotes going around. i already have the big thing, which is the $2500 block

1400HP wasn't enough for you like W2W does with the cheap 6.0 Iron block? :durr

if i was aiming that high i wouldn't be using what i have, i'd do a half filled iron block like they did. that or i'd be saving for the new world products block. but i'm not rich

Yeah I was just saying it seems like it would have saved you $ to go with the iron block versus the $2500 one. http://www.mopartech.net/phpBB2/images/smiles/Dunno.gif

right, but remember, this $2500 new one is the 382 that's still in the car that doesn't seem to be selling. so i'd like to work with what i have. and if i am gonna spend another $2500 on refreshening it, then certain other things will change :)

no heheh, like i said, woulda bought the world products or dart

but how i thought this might work and how i realized it really does, makes it so i wouldn't be able to take advantage of the idea
