Input on Washers and Fridge's

Parents are looking at a wash machine and Fridge. Anyone recently buy one? Know anything good/bad about one over another. Good name brand bad name brand to buy.

Washing machine, I like Kenmore or Maytag because of duability and the Energy saver concept. I just picked up a Whirlpool dishwasher for my mother inlaw and she is liking it. The thing with the dishwasher is to look at how thick the racks are to make sure that they dishes will not wear through and then rust. The other things are just extra options and being quiet.

If I remember correctly back to my dark days at American TV, Whirlpool and Kenmore are both made by the same company just with different names. Both are very reliable and excellent in my book. :thumbsup
