sorry but that's not the engine "blowing up"

it's a malfunction with the nitrous kit that somehow shoots a big flame out of the intake manifold... i'm not sure exactly how it happens, anyone else know? i'm not a nitrous buff

Ya you could tell just by the video that it wasnt the engine blowing up. Looks like a nitrous backfire thru the intake.

The owner said that the operator used the nitrous at too low of an rpm(2500rpm) and it caused a backfire.

Does anyone know precisely why operating nitrous at too low of an RPM causes a backfire? Is the air not moving fast enough through the chamber that you actually get a bit of reversion and some of the hot exhaust ignites the incoming fuel in the ports, from a wet kit? :confused

Haha, that brings back memories when my cousin did that to his tahoe. Except his blew apart into more little pieces pretty making his hood look like a bunch of needles tried to push through it. Was same problem, too low rpm...Last time he played with N20 too.
