While the heat goes under the knife for who knows how long I've decided in the mean time to pick up a Go Kart to race out at Dousman with one of my good buddies. We have the 'shop' almost ready and will be getting the karts & trailer in early spring through Franklin Motorsports. We'll be running Margay Brava 4 chassis and will be using Briggs motors. They will look similar to this...

Let me know when you go out to Dousman to race. I raced there for 10 years.
Not a big fan of Franklin Kart Shop tho.

Im going to be running my Enduro at Road America next year. You should run the Briggs if they have a 4 cycle class up there next year.

Here is my Kart..

I'll be testing weekly throughout '06 at Dousman so I can run in the advanced class in '07 competitively as they require 1 year of experience in that class. I have alot to learn but will have an entire season to practice and I'll have the right people to learn from. Today we measured up the trailer we're going to get for the new toolboxes (1 of 2 arriving this friday), workbenches, storage for both karts & etc. Liska's back from retirement- he'll be back out there with me Dave!

Me and mike ran a 6hour enduro @ RA a few years ago. Those things are fast but the shifters are faster!!! I mean insanely fast!!

My buddy Jimee runs shifter karts out at dousman. It can be quite the pricey hobby

I can run other novice classes from the start, but I want to run the HPV senior sportsman Briggs light class- which has the requirment.
I figure doing it this way will be a good way to go have plenty of time to practice, learn to set the Kart up properly, play with different setups while getting acclimated to running in traffic (on saturdays). And I'll still be able to get my requirements to run HPV for '07 and still have fun with it in the beginning.

I think running in a class at times will be good too.

You can practice and turn thousands of laps but, the best experience is running in races.

Im sure you and Liska have talked about it, so if he suggests that you just practice and tune for a year, Im sure he knows better that I do.

I have been out of the Dousman loop for years.
